Essential oils are gaining more popularity in the world of health, fitness, and wellness. Although it is still a controversial topic for most people, let’s look into what are essential oils and why it is deemed important for the human body.

That is why so many cancer patients took essential oil blends for anxiety, helping them to cope with chemotherapy.

Be warned that essential oils are strong substances and can be very harmful when used carelessly. Make sure you know exactly what the dosage you require and never go more than that each time you use it.

Nothing can replace a doctors opinion so if you are planning to take essential oils make sure you have permission from your doctor. Everyone reacts differently and essential oils might not be for you if your doctor tells you so.

Essential oils can be used only as a “supplement”, in no way shape or form that essential oils can be used as your only method of recovery/treatment. The usual use of essential oils is to reduce bad “effects” in your body due to its antiviral properties. 

Make sure to find out the correct and safe dosage for your needs because even though essential oils are “safe”, using it too much will make it not safe anymore. Also again please check with the doctor first before even considering usingessential oils.

How to Use Essential Oils?

There are three main ways to “consume” essential oils:

Indirect inhalation: the patient breathes in an essential oil by using a diffuser, which spreads the essential oil through the air or by applying drops to a nearby tissue or piece of paper.

Direct inhalation: The patient breathes in an essential oil using a single inhaler that has drops of essential oil floating in hot water. Note: Ingesting or swallowing essential oils is not recommended. Taken orally, the oils can damage the liver or kidneys.

Massage: In aromatherapy massages, one or more essential oils are diluted in a carrier oil, such as olive oil, and massaged into the skin. Essential oils can also be mixed with bath salts and lotions or applied on gauze pads. You should never apply essential oils directly to the skin without diluting them. Always do an allergy test before trying a new essential oil.
