I enjoy rewarding myself for a productive week with a nice drink on Friday evenings. I usually stick to my 4% coolers, but recently I had the opportunity to try Chic Choc Spiced Rum.
The only spiced rum I have ever had, tasted like cinnamon hearts – which is what I was expecting Chic Choc to taste like also.
I was surprised when I tasted it, and found it doesn’t taste like cinnamon hearts, but yet an earthy deep vanilla with a peppery note.
It’s a perfect rum to drink over ice, with cola, or even as my bartender friend suggested – with cream soda! An unlikely combination that really works.
However you choose to drink Chic Choc, I’m certain you will not be disappointing in their 100% Quebec spices. Who would have thought, we Canadians can make some pretty great rum!
