There’s a reason we call them “chef knives.” A good chef is a multitasker, so a good chef knife is designed to handle multiple jobs. Think of all the slicing, mincing, cutting, chopping, dicing, julienning, and peeling that goes into a meal. You want a single tool that can handle it all.

While many aspects of the best chef knife includes blade length and material, it all comes down to personal preference! It’s all about how it feels in your hand. The right knife should feel almost like an extension of your forearm.

If you’re concerned about money, please remember that your chef knife is an investment. Depending on how hard you use them and how well you take care of them, they can easily last 25+ years. Not to mention, they’re the single most important tool in your entire kitchen.

Right out of the box the thin blade is incredibly sharp. The centre of balance is right at the pinch point just ahead of the bolster making a wide range of knife techniques feel natural and easy. It feels perfectly balanced in my hands. The handle is symmetrical and oval, not overly large yet sill generously sized and the taper gives it a feeling of security with a variety of grips.

Though time will tell how well this knife holds its edge and how easy it will be to resharpen, so far so good.

It is simply gorgeous to look at, to hold and to use.
