With 4 kids in the house, you can bet that we have a lot of Scholastic books on the bookshelves. My children LOVE to read and we always encourage reading whenever possible.
We have a wide variety of books. From early readers to teen novels, I am always adding new Scholastic books to our collection.
I am happy that we recently had the chance to add a new early reader series to our bookshelf – StoryPlay.
StoryPlay Books – the smart way to read and play together!
There are currently 4 books in this series, the books are;
Dinosaurumpus!
Dinosaurumpus — a rollicking, rhyming story about dinosaurs dancing — focuses on science.
Ages 0 to 3
I Love You Because You’re You
I Love You Because You’re You — a sweet, rhyming story about the love between a little fox and his mother — focuses on emotions.
Ages 2 to 4
Snuggle Bunny
Snuggle Bunny — a sweet, rhyming story about a bunny who loves to cuddle — focuses on socialization.
Ages 0 to 3
Shoe-la-la!
Shoe-la-la! — a fun, rhyming story about four girlfriends searching for the perfect party shoes — focuses on self-expression.
Ages 3 to 6
These StoryPlay books focus on pre-reading and reading comprehension. Each book is geared towards a different age group, from 0-3, 2-4 and 3-6 but my 5-year-old absolutely loves them all and he loves reading them together. You can see in the photo below, these books have short sentences and easy words for the beginner reader.
Each one of these books features interactive prompts throughout and bonus activities. We love these prompts, they make us discuss things thus making us enjoy story time a little bit longer.
We love each one of the StoryPlay books, but I think Jayden loves Dinosaurumpus the most.
